Disabilities as Ways of Knowing

Disabilities as Ways of Knowing is a series of creative writing conversations that explores how disability is a way of knowing. Events are held throughout the year and are made possible by the Co-Curricular Departmental Initiatives Program within the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience, and is co-sponsored by the Disability Cultural Center and the Disability Studies Program, among others.

Past programs have featured:

  • Poets Ona Gritz and Daniel Simpson shared verses from their book, “Border Songs: A Conversation in Poems"
  • The Disability Experience and Poetic Verse reading by Poets Jim Ferris, Laurie Clements Lambeth, and Stephen Kuusisto
